Meet the locals.
Some Minecraft fanart for the 100th Episode Extravaganzagasm over at Coe’s Quest. Coestar and his doughty slime companion Squishy, standing fast against the explosive footsoldiers of the villainous Creeper Empire!
This was a lot of fun to draw. Ridiculous overblown epic pulp fantasy high adventure!
Here is a meal I semi-improvised from the instructions on a jar of tandoori curry powder this evening. It turned out quite tasty, so I am sharing it.
- 1 breast’s worth of cubed chicken, or 1 steak’s worth of cubed beef.
- 1 onion.
- 1 bell pepper.
- 1-2 tsp tandoori curry powder.
- 1 tbsp lemon juice.
- Enough rice to go with it. Use your judgement.
Mix the lemon juice with the curry powder to make a paste. Add the meat to the paste and mix it around until it’s well-coated. Add a little ground cayenne pepper if you want more of a kick. Leave it to marinade if you have the time.
Pre-heat your oven to Gas Mark 4/350°F/180°C.
Remove the seeds from the pepper, peel the onion, and cut them both into chunks. Put the onion, pepper and meat in a shallow oven-proof dish, drizzle over a little vegetable oil, and cook the whole lot on the middle shelf of the oven for 25-30 minutes.
[I used a covered dish, which meant I ended up with a fair bit of juice at the bottom from the meat and peppers. The recipe on the spice jar didn’t say to cover the dish, but I was worried about it all drying out if I left the lid off. If you do leave it uncovered, reduce the cooking time to 20 minutes or so.]
Cook the rice according to the instructions on the packet in the meantime.
Serve the meat and vegetables on a bed of rice. Enjoy.
